The California Ocean Protection Council (OPC) has been designated as the body responsible for establishing and administering a Dungeness Crab Task Force, pursuant to SB1690. The task force is directed to review and evaluate Dungeness crab fishery management with the objective of making recommendations related to the fishery’s management to the Joint Committee on Fisheries and Aquaculture, the California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), and the Fish and Game Commission (FGC) by January 15, 2010.
